We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Risk and Compliance Officer to join a primary school in the Northeastern Suburbs. As a key member of their staff, you will play a crucial and impactful role in ensuring the safety and compliance of the school community.
In this role, you will focus on coordinating, monitoring, and developing all WHS policies, procedures, and school legal compliance. You will review and update policies, procedures, reports, records and registers and provide support and training to all employees.
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Identify and manage compliance obligations and risks, ensuring actionable policies and procedures
- Providing and organising ongoing training support for staff
- Establish and manage compliance reporting and documentation system
- Compliance reporting to the School Board and other stakeholders
- Monitor and measure compliance performance
- Coordinate the day-to-day WHS program
- Coordinate hazard identification and assessment
- Investigate workplace incidents and injuries
- Perform workplace inspections
To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications in WHS or a related field, together with a sound understanding of risk. You will also have excellent communication skills, which will allow you to represent the school confidently in matters of risk and WHS.

- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance management software.
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid (desirable)
