The Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer is relied upon as the College’s centre of expertise for Risk and Compliance matters and provides the Leadership Team and Board with appropriate advice and reporting so as to ensure that requirements are understood, obligations are met, and performance is clear. The Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer will provide WHS services to the College and (where applicable) community sites that form part of the Gleeson College community.
This position is permanent and part-time (0.92 FTE – working 37.5 hours per week for 44/48 weeks).
The successful applicant will have:
- A strong understanding of current rules, regulations and guidelines set by governments and other regulatory bodies.
- The ability to develop programs and practices to help meet guidelines, and to monitor these practices and maintain all records required to certify compliance.
- High quality administrative skills, and the ability to forward plan, identify issues, and respond efficiently to changes to provide the best outcomes for College compliance.
- The ability to present welcoming, professional assistance to Gleeson students, their families, staff and members of the College executive and governing bodies and to the wider school community.
- Previous experience in policy creation, and knowledge of Risk Management processes.
- Capacity to participate in strategic planning relevant to WHS, Safety Improvement Plans.
- High attention to detail, with good judgement and decision-making ability.
- The ability to maintain confidential information and act with discretion and decorum.
- Demonstrate a willingness to support the ethos of our Catholic College in line with the Gleeson 10 and Gleeson Staff 5.
