The Opportunity
This position within the Integrated Risk Management Team is responsible for implementing Council's Risk Management systems, conduct workplace investigations, ensure compliance with Council’s procedures, including Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) protocols and provide technical advice to operational staff on identification of risks/hazards and its mitigation. The position is required to work independently, build productive relationships and contribute to the establishment of a positive and proactive safety culture in a challenging environment.
Selection Criteria
- Diploma qualification or higher in Work Health and Safety and a minimum of five (5) years’ Integrated Risk Management experience. Return to Work Accreditation, Certificate in Training and Assessment
- Sound working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and international standard for risk management (ISO31000).
- Demonstrated planning and project management skills
- Demonstrated experience in the business continuity process in-line with associated documentation e.g. Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
- Experience in developing and implementing WHS and risk management audit programs.
- Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
- High level of independence and self-direction in managing workload and work requirements and deadlines
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
