Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) is an industry led training partnership that incorporates five Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
PICAC operates Centres of Excellence for the delivery of high-quality training and professional development for the plumbing, fire protection and mechanical services Industries across Australia.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to manage PICAC’s training operations in Queensland on a 6 month contract with an opportunity to extend.
The successful candidate will have strong operational management skills, with the ability to provide oversight of the facilities while maintaining strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.
THE ROLE
As Operations Manager Queensland, your role will have both a strategic and operational focus. You will be responsible for managing RTO operations, coordinating training delivery and ensuring the RTO’s ongoing registration and compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. As a skilled leader, you will lead a team of trainers and administration staff to build a collaborative, high performing team and culture that maintains PICAC’s Centres of Excellence.
You will lead the organisation and report directly to the PICAC CEO and regularly interact with the Board on the progress and performance relating to operations, budget, facilities and compliance. A key part of your role will be ensuring the RTO’s remains financially viable, is meeting compliance and regulatory standards and has the relevant procedures and frameworks to support ongoing business requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure delivery of coordinated high quality training and assessment programs
- Provide strategic, business, and organisational leadership to the organisation
- Ensue training and RTO operations comply with relevant regulatory, legislative standards and/or requirements
- Drive performance, culture and staff development of organisation
- Oversee implementation of standardised and consistent operating processes, policies and systems for all training programs delivered across states
- Oversee delivery of high-quality business and training outcomes and student experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To excel in this role, we are seeking a professional with the following:
- Proven senior leadership experience managing all aspects of an RTO business
- Relevant degree and/or management qualification
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent), or higher
- At least 5 years RTO management experience in the VET sector
- Sound knowledge of VET Quality Framework (VQF) and compliance and funding arrangements under ASQA
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and drive results
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven change management skills and experience successfully building teams and leading organisations through transition
- Solution focused individual, with a demonstrated ability to ‘get things done’ and think creatively and flexibly to meet existing and future business challenges
