About the role

The Director, People and Culture Operations is a key leader in the People and Culture (P&C) Division and is responsible for delivering the People Support, Corporate Leader Advisory, Service Improvement and People and Culture Systems functions which are of critical importance to the organisation achieving the Strategy for Public Education.

The Director will deliver a customer service strategy that drives service improvement and excellence across the People and Culture Division. Working closely with executives, senior managers and their teams, this position will identify, design and deliver priority changes to services and systems. Additionally, this position will lead the building of a culture of customer service excellence throughout P&C which will improve the ways in which colleagues support and deliver better outcomes across the department.

The role provides expert advice regarding the identification, planning, mapping and implementation of People and Culture customer service improvement priorities and will lead, manage and oversee high performing teams skilled in delivering customer focused support models and processes through the P&C Service Improvement, People Support, Corporate Leader Advisory and Systems functions.

The role requires high levels of discipline expertise and experience in establishing and managing critical stakeholder relationships, communication and collaborations to deliver efficient and effective Human Resources operational service delivery aligned with the People and Culture Divisional Plan and department’s strategic plan.

The Director, People and Culture Operations will lead an integrated approach to service delivery aligned with P&C technologies primarily through shaping and driving improvements that will make it easier for our departmental colleagues to get what they need quickly and easily.

Qualifications and competencies:

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with experience in leading customer service teams to deliver organisational outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in delivering an integrated and strategic approach to HR operations and service delivery.
  • Proven high level interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrated success achieving impact through collaborative practice and influence with stakeholders.

Special Conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course which will be required to be updated every three years.
