Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Department is seeking a Safety Advisor to provide high quality wellbeing support as part of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team and will be a key contact for all WGHG staff in regard to Safety Matters.
This position is based at the Warragul Hospital site. This is a fixed term part time position of up to 32 hours per week (can be worked over 3 or 4 days) to support the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager whilst recruitment processes are being undertaken. We are looking for someone who can commence as soon as possible. Further information is contained within the Position Description.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Minimum Diploma in Health & Safety, WHS or similar relevant field
- Minimum 4 years of practical experience in Safety, including Incident reviews and investigations, risk assessment and workplace safety audits
- Knowledge of Victorian Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
- Knowledge or experience supporting Injury management or RTW with OHS advice to reduce injury
- Experience in OHS functions and OHS improvement programs
- Experience reviewing, developing and documenting safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders
The following experience/qualifications would be also considered advantageous:
- Previous experience in a Healthcare or Hospital environment
- Injury management experience or alignment
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
