We are looking for an experienced & agile Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor- Project Lead, encouraging a culture of safety and sustainability, to join our dynamic SHE Team supporting the manufacturing site at North Ryde for a 24-month full time contract role.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the SHE Lead, you will be required to play a pivotal role in enhancing safety, health, and Environmental practices, collaborating with SHE Advisors, and taking the lead on important projects to drive continuous improvement. You will Develop and execute a sustainable Risk Management framework aligned with AstraZeneca global standards and industry best-practice, ensuring you are working in a manner that protects the safety and well-being of self, others, and the environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders, preparing and managing Project Plans for assigned SHE projects.
- Applying best practice project management and safety principles to deliver tasks and projects aligned with targets, providing exceptional customer service.
- Mentoring stakeholders and users post-project, maintaining system effectiveness.
- Implementing the SHE Contractor Management system across the site and making recommendations for further improvements.
- Identifying improvement opportunities within the Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health programs, implementing effective actions to meet AstraZeneca Global Standards
- Assessing and identifying improvement opportunities in Chemical Management on site, including mitigating the risk of pollution events
- Supporting SHE report system users, ensuring SHE compliance, enhancing Safety Management System, and adapting to legislative changes.
- Developing and facilitating training, including virtual and face-to-face sessions.
- Analysing SHE data, predicting trends, and establishing mitigation strategies.
- Performing site inspections, audits, and contributing to committees.
- Significant experience in a similar role
- Tertiary Qualification in Project Management or relevant experience
- Tertiary or formally recognised qualification in the area of occupational Health and safety, minimum WHS Cert IV and Diploma
- Sound understanding of relevant SHE legislation, industry practice, and company standards and expectations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence others at various levels of the organisation.
- Experience developing and facilitating SHE-related training programs
- Highly motivated, energetic, and resourceful with good self-awareness of strengths, opportunities, and role responsibilities
- An ability to manage conflicting and multiple SHE business objectives
- Strong team skills, with a proven track record to work independently
- Willingness to work reasonable additional hours to meet business needs and respond to serious SHE events
- Experience working in an industrial FMCG SHE role, SHE engineering role, or within a similar industry.
- Post Graduate qualification in SHE-related field
- SHE Management System Auditing qualification
- Certifications in high-risk work, including confined spaces, working at height, chemical management, LOTO, and permits
- Certified in Safety Investigations and root cause analysis (eg: ICAM or similar)
