Our client is one of the South-East Queensland's preeminent consulting engineers with over 100 years of combined experience in the provision of electrical engineering, design, estimation and project management solutions. They work closely with electrical contractors, builders, developers and architects on major Commercial, Industrial and Residential projects that require the expertise of a specialised electrical engineering firm.
Due to triple digit growth, our client is looking to bring more focus on and direction to the sales department. There's a considerable amount of warm leads to pursue, opportunities to tender and actively pursue that the client does not have the resources to be able to follow-up on. Your responsibility will be manage all existing and new business in support of achieving realistic sales targets set for the business. We don't envisage you needing to make a lot of cold calls, but it may be required from time to time in certain circumstances.
OPPORTUNITY
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Business Development Manager role is integral to our firm's continued success. You can be living anywhere on the Gold Coast to the Southern Suburbs of Brisbane. The successful candidate will be tasked with devising and executing business development strategies and initiatives to maintain our position as a market leader. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a background in sales, ideally within the electrical or building/construction industries. The successful candidate will handle warm-to-hot leads while focusing on new business development, supported by tools and guidance from the Operations Manager.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth, achieve revenue targets, and refine sales processes.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide product demonstrations, generate quotations and proposals, and convert leads into sales.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies, and communicate effectively with clients throughout the sales process.
- Perform marketing tasks, including email marketing and social media management, to support sales efforts.
- Achieve and report on KPIs such as client acquisition, revenue growth, sales pipeline velocity, client retention, market penetration, and customer satisfaction.
- $80,000 - $95,000 base salary plus superannuation

To be considered for this role B2B (business to business) or B2C (business to consumer) sales experience is essential. Ideally you have electrical sales experience. This means, you could be working in professional services (similar to my client) or for an electrical wholesaler, distributor or supplier of electrical products, of which electrical contractors would be an important stakeholder to cover off.
If you possess the ability to read and interpret electrical plans and drawings, or perhaps an electrical trade qualification earlier in your career that would be a bonus.
