About the role:
We currently have an opportunity to join the rural team as a Sales Agronomist working out of the Robinvale and Mildura stores.
The role of Sales Agronomist is responsible for promoting and recommending products and services by providing on farm agronomic advice in relations to horticulture vegetable and irrigated cropping for our key accounts.
The primary duties of the role will include:
- Make sales calls throughout assigned territories to determine agronomy needs, create solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, fertilizer, ag chemicals and agronomy services
- Provide analytical services including soil and plant sample tests, and crop checking
- Develop and maintain a current list of customers and prospects
- Keep current on agronomic products, trends and services
- Sell agronomy products in an ethical manner
- Relay competitive sales, pricing and marketing information to management
To be successful for this role applicants will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in agriculture or a related discipline (desirable)
- Some post graduate experience (desirable)
- Self motivator
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work unsupervised
- The ability to work in a team environment
- A current driver's licence or willing to obtain
