Australian owned and managed exhibition and event organiser, running more than 30 trade and consumer events in Australia each year. We create successful niche exhibitions and events that connect people with markets, are renowned for being professional and memorable, reflect our personal touch and deliver long-lasting experiences. Our leading events and tradeshow business on Sydney's Northern Beaches is continuing to expand nationally and we are looking for an experienced Sales and Business Development Manager that can help us grow to the next step.
About the role:
This role is accountable for achieving group sales targets through the effective implementation of sales strategies and the management of key customers and the sales team. The sales manager is responsible for the direction, performance and development of the sales team.
The ideal candidate will have prior sales account experience preferably in the event management or similar industry. The demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and build strong customer relationships will be highly regarded.
Part of this role will be to work alongside the senior management team on identifying new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
• Management of key strategic customers
• Ongoing development of sales team
• Research, identify and rank potential exhibitor prospects and generate new business through the sales team
• Achieve weekly individual and team targets
• Manage sales pipeline effectively and ensure CRM system is maintained and reviewed daily
• Review event floor plan to ensure the event has the right mix of product to achieve right content mix/budget
• Continue to develop sales strategy for events allocated and look to support prospective exhibitors over a range of events on the show calendar
Skills and Experience:
• Minimum 3 years sales account management experience
• Excellent communication and telemarketing skills - able to overcome clients objections and close the sale
• Exhibitor or industry knowledge a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and use of CRM systems
• Strong organisational skills and time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as lead a small team.
• Sense of urgency sufficient to recognise that the need to move quickly is an inherent facet of the Exhibition industry
• Ability to maintain a high level of initiative, enthusiasm and drive through the intense work peaks and troughs of a busy event program
• A general can do attitude and the ability to think commercially.
