Job description

At Core, we are working with a reputable home builder to grow the Sales Estimator team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential construction and be skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings. A background in sales or production estimating is preferred. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Purpose:

To effectively investigate, resolve, and produce tender and contract costings in a timely manner, ensuring accurate documentation and delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers in line with the company's goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities:

Complete tender revisions and variations with precision and quality.

Investigate and resolve issues to produce sales costings.

Ensure all tenders, contracts, and variations comply with Building Standards, covenant/developer guidelines, and the company's building policies.

Obtain quotes from suppliers as required.

Address technical questions from staff and keep all original documentation up to date.

Maintain clear and appropriate communication with head office, sales, and construction staff.

Conduct self-checks for quality control prior to completing tenders, revisions, and variations.

Undertake other duties as directed by Management within the scope of the position.

Understand business needs and structures and drive business initiatives as outlined by the company.

Enhance team performance through effective and collaborative communication.

Manage dispute resolution effectively and in a timely manner.

Participate in and contribute to a productive team environment.

Provide effective feedback and suggest improvements to processes and systems.

Actively participate in the performance review process.

Attend workflow and other relevant team meetings as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, such as residential sales estimating with a high-volume builder.

Trade or tertiary qualification in a construction-related discipline (desirable).

Strong knowledge and understanding of Australian Construction Standards.

Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Outlook.

Competent in Framework (desirable).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Performance Measures:

Work Output:

Achieve weekly KPIs for Sales Estimating: complete 4 national tenders or express contracts per week, 4 tender pre-checks, 4 tender audits, 3 contract revisions, 3 contract bookings, 5-10 standard variations, and 5 FPRs per week.

Provide feedback and advice to internal staff in a timely manner.

Complete tenders and variations by the set due date.

Keep overruns to 0.022% (or under) of the company's revenue.

Stay current with company policies and procedures, including changes.

Maintain high accuracy in all documentation.

Demonstrate Core Business Values.

Compliance:

Adhere to WH&S requirements.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Service Excellence:

Proactively communicate with external customers, supply partners, and sub-contractors to maximize positive outcomes.

Work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team environment both within the immediate team and the wider company team.
