Primary objective of the role
To maintain and grow sales and relationships with an assigned territory. Performing a variety of sales and customer service related tasks including the management and entering of orders, cold calling, upselling and customer dispute resolution.
Responsibilities and duties to be performed by this role
- Relationship management – manage your customer account base and build strong relationships with existing and new clients
- Visiting face to face accounts for orders based on territory call cycles
- Scheduling regular fortnightly/monthly visits for customer base
- Upselling to existing customers based on their product needs
- Review and maintain territory cycles and order forms
- Identify target customers for market campaigns
- Liaising with call centre to ensure call in/out orders are monitored
- Assisting with the monitoring of custom stock items
- Order management – monitoring territory orders using customer call cycles, identifying and canvasing of lost territory business to identify territory revenue leakage, reporting of and lost business to Sales Manager
- Monitoring of ‘no sales reports’
- Ensuring orders are received prior to order cut off
- Ensuring orders are received on correct order cycles
- Identifying and reporting of lost sales
- Advising accounts of stock outages and available substitutes
- New business – responsible for growing the territory spend and identify opportunity to up sell, as well as participating in marketing campaigns/trade shows, canvasing of new business, and lead/quote management
- Growth of existing business – responsible for the growth of existing business through upselling and identify opportunities within current customer base
- Accounts ledger – responsible for working with the accounts team to ensure accounts are trading within agreed terms
- Picking up of payments
- Contacting accounts to following missing payments
- Other tasks as required by management from time to time
