National Business Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a National Business Manager – Independents to join our retail sales team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager - Retail, you will be a Senior member of the Grocery sales team accountable for all sales management activities associated with Major Independent National Grocery Accounts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Optimising product distribution, sales growth, market share and profitability in line with company objectives.
• Sales forecasting and trade spend management in line with company guidelines.
• Enhancing customer relationships and company image.
• Playing a leading role into the Marketing & Sales Team’s strategic decision-making processes.
• Managing and developing direct reports within the Sales Team.
• Understanding customer strategy across all categories and ensuring Bulla have an aligned strategy that delivers value to both Bulla and your key customers.
• Building plans to drive market share against internal targets to ensure customer relevance to protect and grow ranging across all categories as well as ensuring optimal alignment of retailer activity with Bulla A&P investment.

You will have:

• Extensive experience in senior FMCG sales roles and previous training/professional recognition in sales and management functions.
• Business tertiary qualification desirable
• Detailed knowledge of retail grocery market and primarily the independent sector.
• A sound working knowledge of contemporary business financial management processes and practices.
• A clear understanding of the ACCC guidelines in relation to customer pricing agreements.
• Strong leadership, relationship-building and teamwork skills with the capacity to positively influence people and to initiate and deliver change independently or through teamwork.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills.
• Competency in computer-based communication and information management tools (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and market data software (Nielsen/Aztec) etc.).
• Demonstrated record of success in improving sales performance.
• Sound time management and prioritisation skills.
• A strong focus on customer service.
• Goal-driven, resilient, and possessing a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Capacity to be self-motivated and to work effectively within a team.
• A strong sense of ethics and personal integrity.
• Current driver’s license and roadworthy vehicle
• Occasional interstate travel
