Job description

Managing a large and diverse sales team spread across QLD comprised of direct reports and dotted line reports. You'll provide support and coaching to develop your team in all aspects of professional B2B sales including account management, new business, sales process, pipeline management, pricing, negotiation, conflict management and contract management.

Additional responsibilities in this role also include:

  • Setting a sales strategy for the Elgas QLD business that delivers on our business objective of customer growth, volume growth and margin growth.
  • Growing our customer base by implementing a variety of strategies to improve net customer growth across all segments - (commercial, industrial, leisure) and sizes (SME to major customers)
  • Driving volume growth by working with the sales team to identify and win key new customer accounts whilst also directly managing some of the largest major customer relationships in QLD
  • Improving margin by overseeing and approving all customer sales deals, managing monthly price changes, ensuring the sales team can sell the value of the Elgas PSO, coaching the team on effective pricing practices and by responding to changes in the market.
  • Manage the performance of the sales team to ensure they achieve their targets and KPIs and you will hold regular catch ups with your individual team members to review results and provide coaching to improve performance where needed.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, developing, motivating and organizing your team to create a culture of growth, positivity, safety and high performance is part of this role
  • You champion exceptional service delivery for our customer base by interfacing with the customer service, transport and operational teams to address issues and improve service delivery.
  • Ensuring the safety and compliance of our customers by working with your sales team and technical departments on all new and existing installations is a key focus
  • Daily monitoring and management your team's performance, weekly and monthly reporting to management and annual budgeting.
  • Working with the Elgas QLD leadership team to ensure that Elgas strengthen our position as a market leading supplier.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • You are in possession of a Tertiary or Business qualifications (desirable)
  • Your experience in the gas industry, though not essential is highly desirable
  • Bringing 3+ years' experience in sales management (essential)
  • Exceptional sales pedigree with a proven track record as a salesperson yourself (essential)
  • In addition, you have a passion for growth and demonstrated track record to hit targets
  • Furthermore, you are a strong leader that can develop and drive a large sales team 
  • Your strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office programs aid you in this role
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
