SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Role of Sales Manager is responsible for development of new business in Sydney/New South Wales by qualification and appointment of new General Purpose Drives Distributors, System Integrators, and Control Panel Builders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet sales targets as defined with CT APAC Director/BU Leader.
- Define the local sales strategy together with the APAC Director.
- Responsible for the development and growth of channel business, in particular the General-Purpose Drives partner network. Define strategy that aims to quickly gain market for Control Techniques in Sydney and New South Wales.
- Handle existing customers in Australia and provide them with the support they need (Distributors, System Integrators, OEMs)
- Identify, assess, and develop new Variable Speed Drives sales channels (Distributors, Control Panel Builders, System Integrators, OEMs) for Nidec Control Techniques in Sydney/New South Wales, and responsible for achieving sales targets set for this area of sales responsibility.
- Regularly travel to responsible regions, initiate, execute planned business strategy. Identify opportunities, needs of the responsible market, and ensure that opportunities are captured, and needs addressed.
- Develop long-term relationships with all customers, handling and interpreting their requirements.
- With support from technical team if required, provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, arrange and carry out product training.
- Coordinating with Sales Admin
- Follow-up status of orders, contracts
- Update offer follow chart with offer status regularly
- Maintain clear customer records
- Make visit reports, weekly reports and send to Nidec CT APAC BU Leader. Update order pipeline weekly.
- Persuade customers that Nidec’s inverters and motors best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery.
- Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as assigned
- Liaise with other members of the sales team and technical & service team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Qualification(s)
- Degree / Bachelor / Master in Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years as Sales and Marketing in Variable Speed Drives industry.
- Have existing network, relationship and access to variable speed drives channels (Variable Speed Drives Distributor, Automation System Integrators, and Control Panel Builders).
- Demonstrated strong proficiency in technical field sales in Variable Speed Drives with business/Industry knowledge
- Able to demonstrate profound knowledge in Sydney/NSW Industrial Drives market and its players.
- Good written and spoken English
- Have a technical background in Variable Speed Drives business, to enable to represent the company as a Drives Specialist.
- Proven ability to build and maintain a trustful working relationship within the company and the customer
- Strong sales management experience highly preferred.
