Position: Sales Representative (Sales Rep)
Employment Type: Monday to Friday preferable. 4 - 5 day availability
A sales superstar utilizing their expertise and passion for excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail selling environment. A direct contact for the store’s B2B clients and overseeing their custom uniform orders. This encompasses liaising with suppliers and clients regarding stock availability, artwork designs and pricing.

Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety Canberra is part of a major Australia wide workwear and safety franchise comprising of over 50 stores. We service and evergreen market, supplying corporate clothing, safety workwear, PPE, safety boots as well as custom garment decoration (branding). Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety prides itself on offering quality, value and service to each customer whilst having fun and always learning along the way! We are a local family-owned store in Phillip with a small team of forward thinkers, extensive growth, and goals for further expansion in the ACT.
Your Mission:
- Maximise the satisfaction of customers shopping at Hip Pocket Canberra.
- Store merchandising and presentation.
- Commence customer special orders, which may include custom decoration.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide the highest standard of customer service.
- Engage the customer on the sales floor, providing advice and assistance in an efficient, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Solve customer problems where possible, refer to senior staff when necessary.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of department products, services, and promotional lines.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of customer artwork requirements and decoration possibilities.
- Continue the relationship with B2B customers, filling future orders and answering enquiries.
- Maintain a general working knowledge of store policies and procedures.
- Handling of customer returns, exchanges, refunds, and credit notes.
- Handlin of damaged merchandise correctly.
- General housekeeping of inventory levels and pricing.
- Makes effective merchandising and display changes when required.
- Keeps the selling floor clean and orderly, ensuring displays are neat and tidy.
- Restocking incoming merchandise.
- Solve customer complaints wherever possible, otherwise refer to senior staff.
- Advise the Store Manager on potential product requirements and issues with missing stock.
- Promote possible ‘add on’ purchases for complete customer satisfaction and increase in sales.
The ideal candidate will be confident and outgoing on the selling floor. Able to pickup point of sale and other computer systems easily. Can work as part of a team and can draw upon previous retail or sales experience.
This position is available for an immediate start, however for the right person we will allow for lenient starting arrangements.
