Salesperson / Sales Representative

THE BUSINESS

Shady Characters is the original and leading manufacturer of relocatable shade structures and storage solutions. Operating since 2004, we are a family-owned and operated business, located in Jimboomba Qld. At Shady Characters, we pride ourselves on understanding the needs of our clients and offering tailored solutions to suit our customers' individual needs. We deliver our sheds Australia Wide. 

All of our products are manufactured from our factory in Jimboomba by our highly skilled and trained local staff. Unlike other products on the market, Shady Characters can proudly boast that we use Australian-made materials and 100% Australian steel.

The business has been growing rapidly over the last 5 years and we are now looking for an experienced, motivated and hungry salesperson to help us grow even further. 

THE ROLE

• Based at our office in Jimboomba.
• You will be responsible for:
  • All inbound and outbound telephone and face-to-face sales. 
  • Creating and managing quotes, including follow-up. 
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Site measuring - this doesn’t occur often. 
  • Completing vendor panels and tenders. 
  • Your territory will be Australia-wide, which means a very high growth potential.
• You will be learning the ropes and shadowing the owner of the business over several months.
• You will be reporting to the owner of the business. 
• You will be required to learn the product range and intricacies of the products so that you can 'walk the walk and talk the talk'. 

THE CANDIDATE

• You have demonstrated sales experience and a high level of customer service, ideally in manufacturing or construction.
• You are:
  • Personable and an excellent communicator (verbally and written).
  • Hungry to succeed.
  • A quick learner and willing to learn and grow.
  • Enthusiastic and positive.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Passionate about great customer service and going the extra mile for the customer.
  • Professional but relaxed.  
  • Neat and tidy and presents well. 
  • Not scared to get their hands dirty. 
  • Interested in manufacturing.
• You have:
  • Great telephone manner.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to adjust their communication style based on the person they're speaking with. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple open quotes and follow through on those quotes. 
  • The willingness to learn or have knowledge of the 'Storage and Handling of Workplace Dangerous Goods' national code (applicable areas).

A competitive & negotiable salary package with uncapped commission is on offer, with the base salary being dependent on demonstrated experience.
