Sap Master Data Cataloguing Specialist

Our client AGL are seeking an experienced SAP Master Data Cataloguing Specialist to join them on a contract basis. This role can be based in Adelaide/ Melbourne / Sydney offices in a hybrid capacity and initially for a twelve months duration with a potential to extend for longer.

Key purpose of this role (and team)
The Master Data Cataloguing SAP Specialist is responsible for meticulously managing and cataloguing Master Data within our SAP system. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing best practices in Master Data management.
Key accountabilities of this role
Supplier Identification and Evaluation:

• Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and contractors.
• Evaluate suppliers based on their capabilities, reliability, and adherence to sustainability and quality standards.
• Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

Master Data Cataloguing:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalogue of Master Data elements within the SAP system.
• Ensure standardized naming conventions, classifications, and relationships for efficient data management.

Data Structure Optimization:

• Work closely with business units to understand data requirements and optimize data structures within SAP.
• Implement changes to enhance data integrity, system performance, and user experience.
• Data Quality Management:
• Establish and enforce data quality standards, conducting regular audits and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with data owners to address and resolve data quality issues promptly.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay informed about SAP updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to Master Data management.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements.

Qualifications, key skills and experience required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an SAP Specialist, with a focus on Master Data management.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP modules, particularly SAP MDG (Master Data Governance).
• Familiarity with data governance principles, data modelling, and metadata management.
• Cataloguing set up key for this opportunity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
