The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity working in the School of Information Technology. Providing expert administrative advice and support of the School's Research Office, human resources activities and School events. This role is a great chance to work in a supportive and inclusive environment where you can develop and learn skills to further your experience and career.
To be successful in this role you will be enthusiastic, a team player, and enjoy providing innovative administrative advice and support to a range of stakeholders in the School. You will have strong communication skills and have experience in process improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-level administrative support and guidance to the School of Information Technology, School Manager (IT), School staff and students.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Associate Head of School (Research) and Associate Head of School (Industry Research), in relation to the School's Research office and associated research activities.
- Coordinate, plan and implement processes and projects relating to the School's activities, including the preparation and analysis of reports, coordination of events, and the development of publications and relevant communications.
- Provide secretariat support to School committees including preparation of agendas, minutes and papers and following up on action items.
- Provide administrative support to the School's human resources portfolio to facilitate staff onboarding, exits, academic and higher degree by research visitors, ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner resulting in an exemplary candidate experience.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- experience in providing high-level administrative in a professional services environment
- Initiative, judgment and tact, and a demonstrated understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- High level computer skills in multiple software applications, including Microsoft Office suite, internet and email applications
- Ability to understand and work within the University and Faculty academic and administrative policies
