NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity become available in our Skills and Pathways Directorate to join the team in as a School BasedApprenticeship and Traineeship Engagement Officer.
About the role
The Educational Pathways Program is an innovative, Ministerial and executive priority program designed to improve career advice, increase School Based Apprenticeshipsand Traineeships (SBATs), and help students and young people further their education.
As a School BasedApprenticeship and Traineeship Engagement Officer (SBAT EO), you will join a team focused on increasing the number of students and employers participating in School Based Apprenticeshipsand Traineeships, and provide tailored support to students, parents, schools, RTOs and employers to make the SBAT process as easy as possible.
The Moree position will be based at Moree Secondary College and will also support Boggabilla Central School, Wee Waa Central School, and Narrabri High School
A good knowledge of the Moree/North-West area and it’s unique environmental and business complexities is paramount as this role works collaboratively with three other SBAT EO to foster and develop new opportunities across the whole area.
The role will work flexibly across locations, including hybrid and mobile working. As the role involves travel between a group of schools and within the local community, a current drivers licence and use of your own vehicle is required (with work-related kilometres reimbursed in line with Departmental travel guidelines and policy).

· Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
· Demonstrated experience in Vocational Education and Training, Apprenticeships and Traineeships and/or work-based youth programs
· Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, youth work and/or equivalent knowledge and experience
· Capability to work with industry to source employment opportunities
· Well-developed communication, engagement, negotiation and planning skills
Essential requirements of the role
· Working with Children Check for paid employment
· Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
· Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience
· Current drivers licence, as this role will travel between a group of schools
