School Canteen Cook/Supervisor

The Role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Canteen Cook/Supervisor to manage our junior School Canteen in Marion on a Permanent part-time basis. Reporting to the Site Manager, your role is to ensure our junior school students are served freshly cooked, healthy meals in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with excellent food service and quality. 

Roster (During School Term Time): 

• Monday to Wednesday 8:30am - 2:30pm

• Thursday & Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm (with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts if required).

What This Role Involves:

• Cooking lunch orders for our junior school students
• Ordering & stock control
• Food preparation (e.g. peeling/chopping vegetables, making sandwiches & salads)
• Friendly customer service
• Washing dishes, cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas
• Maintaining food hygiene, security and safety practices

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in a canteen or cafe environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to organise work with other team members and take direction
• Reliability and availability for various days and hours
• Motivated and enthusiastic
• First-class food safety practices
• Ability to comply with OH&S and food safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment during peak service periods
