STRADBROKE SCHOOL CANTEEN MANAGER
SUMMARY OF THE BROAD PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
You are employed by the Stradbroke School Governing Council Inc. to manage the school’s daily Canteen food service within food handling regulations and policies. This includes developing rosters for volunteers, adjusting the price list when necessary, managing the cleanliness of the canteen, ordering goods, providing healthy food choices in line with Right Bite policy, counting the takings and ensuring a safe, happy work environment.
The person
It is desirable that the successful candidate/s will:
- will have experience in a similar role.
- demonstrate efficiency in Canteen procedures.
- have a demonstrated ability to effectively lead, plan, organise and control the day-to-day operations of the food service including finance and people.
- have the ability to be flexible and adaptable and to make sound judgments and decisions when working with staff and students, taking into account Health and Safety practices and regulations; and DfE and school policies and guidelines (Rite Bite).
- demonstrate the ability to be a positive team player, motivate and work collaboratively.
- have a professional approach and strong work ethic.
- have experience using point of QKr! software or equivalent.
- must have a current Working with Children Certificate and RRHAN-EC Certificate.
- Food Safety Supervisor Course (Level 1 & Level 2) or working towards
Employment Conditions and Benefits
- Six-month part-time position.
- 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3.00pm, during school term weeks (40 weeks per year)
- Part-time, Level 3 (in charge of 2 or more persons). Hourly rate is $29.27/hour, as per Fast Food Industry Award.
