Details: Namadgi School is seeking a highly motivated secondary SLC to lead our Mathematics and Science faculties (Years 7-10). The position will require the strategic leadership of enacting our school plans through the implementation of the Australian Curriculum.
Namadgi School has a strong focus on utilising data to inform planning through the strategic implementation of PLC's. The school sets high expectations to support student learning and growth and set priorities through our school plans that include:
- Build student connectedness to the school community (voice and agency)
- Improve student literacy (P-10) through explicit teaching and faculty specific learning outcomes
- Coach and mentor staff to improve capacity (pedagogy and practice)
In your application, please describe how your skills and experience will support you to undertake this leadership role.
Key duties include:
- Leading the Mathematics and Science faculty and implementation of whole school strategic plans
- Develop effective teams and capacity of staff to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes
- Lead teams and build the capacity of staff in all aspects of curriculum development and delivery, assessment and reporting and program evaluation through the spirals of inquiry process
- Contribute to the development and achievement of whole school strategic goals, implementation of the school plan and lead school improvement.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP). Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. - A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.
- Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI.
