Redeemer Lutheran College is actively seeking Sports Coaches for the following activities:
- SELECT Football / Futsal - specialist sport program that runs across the school year and involves weekly before school training sessions, and games on Wednesday afternoons from 3 – 6pm as well as targeted school Football & Futsal carnival days.
- SELECT Netball - specialist sport program that runs across the school year and involves weekly training sessions after school, and games on Saturday mornings for School Sport plus Saturday afternoons at the Underwood Park Netball Association.
- Indoor Cricket - primary & secondary school teams that train weekly in Term 2 after school, and games on Saturday mornings for School Sport.
- Touch Football – primary & secondary school teams that train weekly in Term 2 and 3 before and/or after school, and games on Saturday mornings for School Sport plus in various All Schools touch football carnivals.
Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Preparing and implementing suitable training sessions for primary and/or secondary sport teams
- Coach the fundamental skills of the respective sport and coach the rules of the game in conjunction with a strong emphasis on teamwork and good sportsmanship.
- Maximize the effectiveness and student engagement during training sessions.
- Always ensure the appropriate use of Redeemer sporting equipment and facilities.
- Coach on game day with an emphasis on student development and executing team processes, and not solely on outcomes.
The successful applicant will ideally have the following skills and qualities:
- Knowledge and experience in coaching primary and/or secondary school aged athletes.
- Have student safety at the forefront of everything you do during all training sessions and games.
- Display discretion, confidentiality, honesty and integrity in their relationships with all students, fellow coaches, umpires / referee’s and college staff.
- Proactively communicate with individual students, coaches and staff as necessary to and always present the College in the best possible light at all times.
- Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
- Always maintain a high level of personal and professional presentation.
- Be positive in support of the college's traditions and Christian ethos.
