We are calling for applications for highly motivated Science Laboratory Technicians to join our team Part Time, Term Time (3 days per week).
- Permanent position
- Part Time, Term Time - 3 days a week, 8.00am - 3.30pm, 21 hours per week, school terms only
- Monday - Wednesday
As an employee at Northside Christian College, you will join an outstanding Christian College committed to inspiring and developing students' spiritual, academic, emotional and social potential.
This role would be responsible for the following:
- Prepare scientific experiments for classes, including chemical dilution and mixing.
- Distribution/collection of equipment for practical work.
- Assist teachers during practical classes.
- Liaise with and assist students completing student experiments.
- Assist with maintenance of chemicals register.
- Collect and/or receive deliveries of stock (including unpacking stock, checking invoices, storing stock).
- Assist with accurate data entry.
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner.
- Wash and store glassware/equipment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A formal Laboratory Technician qualification is advantageous.
- Previous experience in laboratory setup and function is highly beneficial.
- Suitable qualification in science is recommended.
- An employee Blue Card for paid employment (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to work constructively with students, parents, teachers, and staff in a team environment.
- A strong interest in supporting students' learning.
- Current First Aid qualification (desirable)
- A friendly, positive can-do attitude
- An active Christian faith and strong Christian character
