About the role
The Scientific Affairs Associate plays a pivotal role within the development project team. The role provides scientific guidance to the development team members, critical evaluation of experimental work and has a focus on the management of testing vendors and contract manufacturers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific guidance to those working in development teams;
- Evaluate scientific data generated by development teams;
- Evaluate technical documentation and assist in selection of third party service providers;
- Assess critical manufacturing process parameters and in-process controls;
- Oversee the production of pilot and commercial batches, according to timeline and quality requirements;
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance with approved raw materials specifications; and
- Assist in project management by providing weekly progress reports to ensure the product development is completed within project timelines and meeting regulatory requirements.
Knowledge and skills:
- Tertiary education in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering or other related disciplines;
- Experience in manufacturing of pharmaceutical/cosmetic products is highly desirable; and
- Sound capability to analyse and interpret scientific data.
