We have an opportunity for someone with a unique skillset to join a growing and thriving kiwi-owned business that specialises in the provision of scientific laboratory solutions.
You will play a key role in providing wrap-around support for the entire team – office, operations, and sales. Because of the nature of the business, and the types of clients and suppliers you’ll be dealing with on the phone and via email, an educational background in science is preferred.
This multifaceted role could be a stepping stone for a graduate wanting to pursue a career in scientific sales, or a return-to-work option for a science-minded person who took a career break to look after kids.
Responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with clients and suppliers to verify and confirm order details, then organize/prioritize order dispatch.
- Collaborating with the sales team to develop a deep understanding of products and services.
- Asking customers relevant questions to gather comprehensive information needed for accurate quoting.
- Safely lifting and moving inventory using manual handling techniques or mechanical equipment such as a forklift (licence not essential as client is prepared to pay for training and licence)
- Accurately input and update data into Excel spreadsheets from various sources.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Dedication to developing a thorough understanding of the products and services offered.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical strength and ability to lift and move inventory.
- Willingness to undergo training for forklift operation, if required.
- Adaptability and openness to learn new tools, processes, and technology.
- Foundational level of science proficiency and mathematical aptitude.
- Previous experience in customer service/office administration role.
