Scientist -Prsm

The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a PRSM Scientist to join our Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MS&T) Department at CSL Seqirus, Parkville site. Reporting to the MS&T Manager of Pilot, Reagent and Seed Manufacturing (PRSM), you'll be a member of a high impact, efficient team that ensures GMP readiness for introduction of new influenza strains each season.
Please note that this will be a 12-month Fixed term opportunity.
The Role:

• You will be responsible for Pilot plant assessments of candidate vaccine viruses (CVVs), assessments include yield, purification, filtration and strain performance in manufacturing process, manufacture of GMP Seed lots for IVV, manufacture of SRID reference reagents for IVV GMP characterisation of new strains.
• Recommend measures to production to improve production yield based on parameter run data. The optimal conditions will be reported for implementation in the production environment.
• Help develop experimental plans, prepare and implement characterisation and validation studies, prepare protocols and reports.
• Maintain compliance of the facilities used for PRSM team activities.
• Ensure that Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS) procedures and business policies are followed.

Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in a related scientific discipline and/or substantial on the job pharmaceutical experience.
• 4+ years' experience in a Pharmaceutical or Manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of the influenza virus, manufacturing process and regulatory requirements;
• Scientific assays including but not limited to Hemagglutination, SRID, EID50, SDS-Page, Lowry and BCA protein assay;
• PC Skills (Word, Spreadsheet & Database skills essential, SAP & GLIMS an advantage).
