Attention all Junior Secondary Science teachers! Tradewind is excited to collaborate with an F-9 school in Melbourne's West, teaching Science to students in years 7-9, The role begins in Term 2, offering a full-time ongoing position, with the option for school tours.Key duties:Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
- Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to science teaching.
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary Science
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
- Commencing this term (Term 2) on a full-time, ongoing basis
