Description
We have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Government team, acting for various Commonwealth agencies and the ACT Government in public law and merits review matters. We provide our team with opportunity for client relationship management and an interesting cross-section of work including workplace investigations and secondment opportunities to enhance your skills and develop client relationships.
Day to day, your work will include:
- Advising in relation to public law, FOI, privacy, legislation development and merits review matters;
- Managing and assisting in public law and merits review matters;
- Training for clients and claims managers;
- Client relationship management
- Secondments where they support your development or a valued client relationship; and
- Assisting in marketing and business development activities.
Profile
- 5+ years PQE for the Senior Associate level role:
- A preference for working in a collegiate environment;
- Experience in admin law, FOI, privacy, legislation development, employment law, personal injury, workers' compensation or military compensation, preferably within the Commonwealth system;
- Ability to run files with minimum supervision;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal;
- High level problem solving skills and the ability to learn new tasks quickly; Strong time management and organisational skills together with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously;
- Ability to relationship build with clients and to build on our existing practice.
