Security Officer

Sigma Security is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and assets. As part of this commitment, we are seeking qualified individuals to join our team as Security Officers.

Position Overview: As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the security and integrity of Australian Government facilities and personnel. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for implementing security measures, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect and deter security threats.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify potential security breaches.
• Enforce access control procedures to restrict unauthorized entry to secure areas.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, including emergencies and alarms.
• Conduct security screenings of personnel and vehicles as required.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security activities.
• Collaborate with other security personnel and law enforcement agencies as necessary.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in security procedures and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must hold a valid ACT Security Licence.
• Australian citizenship with eligibility for baseline clearance (preferably already possessing baseline clearance).
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military is advantageous: Or; Experience in Customer Service roles including Administrative, Hospitality or Retail.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and the ability to undertake patrols and respond to emergencies as needed.
