Job Description
Millennium Services Group Ltd are currently seeking suitably qualified and highly motivated Corporate Security / Control Room professionals for a high-profile corporate asset located in Adelaide CBD. Position available is Casual. The position offers training.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of Australia's premier Integrated Service companies. Our Corporate Security & Control Room professionals are responsible for delivering the highest standards of both customer and security services in a dynamic work environment. An ability to work unsupervised is a must in this role.
The role requires an individual with excellent knowledge in site security, building management systems, fire control systems, and the application of standard operating procedures.
In addition to excellent communication skills and five-star customer service attributes, the role requires the aptitude and knowledge to apply security risk and hazard management principles in the work environment. The ability to maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management and key stakeholders including state & federal law enforcement agencies to deliver security that meet the needs of the client, will be paramount to your success in this role.
The Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding & practical application of site policies and procedures.
- Patrol premises effectively / Control access to and exit from premises, including control of stock, if required
- Assess and respond to situations of risk / monitor individual and crowd behaviour.
- Operate basic security equipment / Operate basic fire suppression equipment / Operate moving walkways, lifts, escalators and goods lifts / Operate installed security gates, barriers, and bollards / Operate access control systems.
- Manage keys and access swipe cards.
- Operate intruder & access control detection systems.
- Operate and investigate fire panel notifications in accordance with site/client protocols.
- Respond to calls for assistance and respond to alarm events.
- Protect persons / Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques.
- Provide First Aid
- Control persons using effective crowd control techniques / Manage conflict through negotiation / Implement effective strategies for engaging with young people / Implement effective strategies for engaging with intoxicated and drug affected persons.
- Act as an Area warden and manage people & procedures effectively during an emergency.
- Communicate effectively with visitors, customers, tenants, and corporate management.
- Use communication systems including portable radios and electronic media.
- Provide expert advice and directions to visitors, tenants & management.
- Participate in workplace safety arrangements.
- Report any WHS hazards or incidents identified in the workplace.
- Comply with work instructions & Group Integrated Management System (IMS) policies / Attend Toolbox and IMS training sessions when required.
- Investigate and prepare reports – complete client incident reports / Give evidence in Court / Liaise with Police where required.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Valid SA Security License
- HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID002 Provide Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Current Open C Class drivers’ license
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- High degree of computer literacy; including applied knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills applicable in a dynamic work environment
- Aptitude to apply sound emergency response principles.
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
- Retail or Corporate security industry experience essential
- High degree of personal grooming & presentation
- Personable with excellent customer service attributes and the ability to engage stakeholders.
