The position:
We are currently seeking experienced, suitably qualified and highly motivated Security officers to work across our client sites in Sydney’s South West (Liverpool, Bankstown, Campbelltown). Customer service experience, hospital and or retail experience is essential. VPM training (mandatory), Working with Children Check (mandatory), experience in de-escalation, and working with clients/patients whom may suffer from disorientation, mental health and disabilities extremely advantageous.
The Security Officer is responsible for delivering the highest standards of both customer and security services in a dynamic work environment.
The role requires an experienced individual with excellent knowledge in site security, building management systems and fire control systems; and the application of standard operating procedures.
In addition to excellent communication skills and stellar customer service attributes, the role requires the aptitude and knowledge to apply security risk and hazard management principles in the work environment.
An ability to work unsupervised is a must in this role.
The primary functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of site policies and procedures
- Provide high-quality front-line customer service and support
- “Bed Sitting” disorientated and delirious aged patients, providing continuous observation and reporting back to hospital staff where required.
- Reporting and recording incidents and various other activities whilst on shift
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Valid NSW Security License
- First Aid
- Violence Prevention Management (VPM) certificate- Mandatory
- Working with children check (WWCH)- Mandatory
- Current Open C Class drivers’ license preferred
- Fire alarm panel experience advantageous
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills applicable in a dynamic work environment
- Able to work a set rosters AND rotating roster
- Aptitude to apply sound emergency response principles
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated
- Retail security industry experience advantageous
- Personable with excellent customer service attributes and the ability to engage stakeholders.
