Victorian government department is hire Security Operations Lead to supports the Security function to safeguard staff and community from cyber threats. Long term contract.
Your new role:
This role offers intelligence, advisory, maintenance, and response services using security products and platforms. This will also include:
- Use various tools to monitor and detect cyber security threats across different platforms and assets, and take action based on risk levels.
- Automate and execute security procedures, tests, recovery, and assurance activities to ensure security and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, auditors, partners, and vendors to facilitate assessments, investigations, forensics, and support.
- Triage, respond, and remediate security events and incidents, and provide threat intelligence and analysis to inform decision making.
- Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments, compliance checks, and reporting systems to evaluate and improve security controls and risks.
What you'll need to succeed:
To be considered for this role you will possess the following:
- Use and improve cyber security technologies and tools to protect endpoints, networks, and cloud platforms, and manage identity and access.
- Perform intelligence and analysis tasks to forecast, monitor, and assess cyber security trends and threats using various data sources and methods.
- Apply knowledge of attack frameworks, maturity models, and security standards to reduce the occurrence and impact of cyber-attacks, and respond to incidents effectively.
- Conduct security assessments, audits, and forensics to identify and mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and threats, and provide advice and support to stakeholders and clients.
- Establish and follow systems, procedures, and objectives to guide work, track progress, and achieve goals, and seek opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
