Due to extended leave, my client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant or Finance Business Partner to join their team for an ongoing temporary requirement.
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing internal relationships whilst contributing to the smooth running of the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data and performance metrics, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Present findings to senior management and provide actionable recommendations.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements, including income tax, GST, and other statutory obligations. Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary.
Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with various departments, including sales, operations, and marketing, to understand their financial needs and challenges.
Audit Management: Lead the annual financial audit process, liaising with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit queries in a timely manner.
Process Improvement: Continuously review and streamline financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Ad hoc support to wider finance team as required
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience as an Senior Accountant in a large organization or as a business partner
Thorough knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in MS Excel, advanced level is desired
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to upholding high standards of integrity and ethics.
Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
Available to start a new role in June with no planned leave between June and September
