Our client, a prestigious financial advisory and chartered accountant firm nestled in the heart of Melbourne, with a legacy spanning over 20 plus years, our client's firm stands as one of the top advisory firms globally. They are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Accountant with experience working in an accountancy/consultancy firm to Step into a hybrid role.
As an Accounting Manager, you'll be balancing managerial duties with hands-on, billable work.
Here's what awaits you:
- Prepare Monthly/Quarterly Activity Statements.
- Prepare Quarterly Management Reports and conduct meetings with clients.
- End-of-Year Tax Planning, Prepare Annual Financials & Tax Returns
- Review compliance work prepared by accountants, ranging from juniors to seniors.
- Review and approve invoices for staff.
- Conduct client meetings, both in person and via video conferencing.
- Prepare advice for clients and engage in discussions regarding financial matters.
- Monitor ATO lodgement program, including XPM lodgements.
- Oversee various programs such as Distribution Minutes, Tax Planning, training programs, and Fee Agreements.
- Update Xero Financial templates, including Year End Tax Planning and Quarterly Reports.
- Conduct WIP Meetings, review staff WIP, and organise WIP meetings.
- Monitor staff productivity on a weekly basis, including timesheet management.
- Oversee monthly invoicing targets in collaboration with WIP workflow to achieve targets.
- Prepare Management reports for partners as requested.
- Conduct Quarterly one-on-one discussions with staff to track progress, address any issues and offer assistance.
- Prepare Annual reviews of staff and provide feedback to partners to aid in Annual Performance Reviews.
- Assist management in the preparation of yearly budgets and targets for staff.
We're seeking individuals who possess:
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia
- CPA/CA qualification and a degree in accounting or related field (or currently working towards this)
- Proven experience in an advisory/consulting/accountancy firm and client-facing roles
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Great attitude, have had some form of experience in mentoring junior staff members/admin team or graduates (unofficially or officially).
- Attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Adaptable and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
