Senior Accountant/Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established accounting firm, working within a team environment. This organisation is offering a long-term career opportunity with a differing array of tasks including small business, taxation and SMSF.

Our client base is diverse and consists of individuals, small to medium sized businesses, trusts and self managed superannuation funds.

Key Duties and Responsibilities includes (but not limited to) the following:

• Manage a portfolio of clients from a variety of industries. Providing technical support, and guidance to team members that work with your clients
• Assist & review the flow of information between clients and our firm
• Preparation of complex individual, company, trust, partnership tax returns and financial statements 
• Advanced knowledge of indirect taxes i.e. GST, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
• Review of workpapers, analysis of client data and transactions and setting up accounts onto the accounting package in accordance with the organisations standards 
• Assist with research and accurate interpretation of taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients when required.
• Liaising with ATO and other government organisations as necessary
• Other duties as required

Skills and experience: The Ideal candidate will have

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce/Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CA or CPA completed
• Minimum 4+years within an Australian public practice firm, 
• Advanced understanding of the relevant accounting standards, Tax legislation and Corporations Act relating to the work undertaken
• Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management & organisational skills
• Excellent listening, verbal & written communication skills
• Strong and proven Excel, MYOB and Xero experience including dealing with clients on their software needs
• A friendly, social personality

• Salary commensurate with skills & experience
