Position Summary
The purpose of the Senior Accounts Payable position is to review and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment of creditors accounts in accordance with DP World policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Regularly prepare and review Accounts Payable analyses to monitor account status and ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile Credit Card transactions against bank statements monthly, reporting discrepancies to the respective manager.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of Mobile Phone Accounts against macro files, sending detailed reports to respective managers.
- Process invoices promptly, verifying their correct allocation to appropriate accounts for financial accuracy.
- Ensure all accounts are reviewed and approved in accordance with company policy by appropriate managers before processing.
- Proactively follow up on any problems with, and ensure prompt payment of, outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile invoices with their corresponding batches, making adjustments as necessary, and report any issues to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain accurate creditor details in the system for effective financial management.
- Input data diligently into the system to ensure accurate payment allocation and process journals for General Ledger, Accruals, and Budgets.
- Assist in various accounting tasks, including supporting Terminal and Corporate accountants with journal entries and month-end tasks, preparing manual Ad-hoc invoices for one-off services, ensuring timely settlement of intercompany charges with the Global head office, and aiding the Accounts Payable Supervisor with month-end tasks, reporting, and the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Completion of High School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent level of education required.
- At least 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, demonstrating a capacity for handling financial documents and processes.
- Independent worker with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision, coupled with strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access) and familiarity with accounting software, particularly Peoplesoft.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills, ensuring accurate financial management and effective team collaboration.
