Working with the Manager Operations and Maintenance, this role will take the lead in ensuring that all of Council’s plant and fleet including light vehicles, operations trucks and plant, is fit for purpose, safe, well maintained and is managed efficiently.
About this opportunity
In your role as a Plant and Fleet Officer, Council are looking for a individual well versed in development of specifications for plant and fleet, managing the procurement, delivery, servicing and disposal of plant and fleet all the way from small plant through to large earthmoving machinery including tandem tippers, graders, excavators, rollers etc.
You will be key in leading the delivery of the annual Plant and Fleet replacement program, ensuring all items are serviced and repaired in a timely manner, ensuring asset utilisation and fuel usage is reported in a timely manner.
What you will bring to the role
- Relevant experience in the management of plant and fleet services.
- Sound financial skills to assess and manage budget and works priorities.
- Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication with other professionals, contractors and consultants.
- Ability to use computer systems and software used by the organisation, including, MS Office, fleet management software, financial reporting and email.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills to liaise with people at all levels.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a consistent and high level customer service.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and work practices related to plant and fleet.
- A current driver’s licence.
