The Mater Mothers' Admissions Administration team is seeking an experienced Senior Administration Officer in a permanent part-time role, 16 hours per week.
The successful candidate will need to be available 16 hours per week, shifts run across a 7-day, 24-hour roster.
Salary range: $35.45 - $39.62 (MCAS3) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Administration Officer and your role will involve but not limited to:
- Manage, organise and provide confidential administrative support with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors
- Provide administrative assistance in a team environment focusing on attention to detail, time management and task prioritisation
- Exercise judgement where necessary to problem solve in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
- Provide reception administration in public and private admissions and acute care environments including processing planned and unplanned admissions and attendances, booking and arriving appointments, filing and liaising with clinical staff in accordance with departmental policy
- Provide informed financial consent, performing health fund eligibility checks, receipting and banking using practical knowledge of private health care
- Carry out other administration functions as directed by your Team Leader/Manager
- Provide accurate data entry using various network-based information systems
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- At least 3 years' experience in providing high level administration. Hospital experience is highly desirable
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer and data entry skills including MS Office suite and hospital administration systems
- Dynamic, positive and outcome focused
- High level of customer service, verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients and visitors
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of the team
