About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Networks & Technical, the Senior Adviser, Networks leads multiple, complex projects to deliver advice, reviews and rule changes that support the work and strategic objectives of the energy transition. Key responsibilities include project planning, budgeting, research and analysis and reporting while also providing leadership and coaching to the Advisers and Graduate Advisers within the team. Key policy reforms relate to ensuring the economic regulatory framework can facilitate the transition to net zero. Specific areas include but are not limited to transmission planning and investment reform, gas market reform, and more broadly the transformation of electricity distribution networks in a high CER environment, including tariff reform.
The Senior Adviser is also responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including the executive and senior leadership teams, the Commission, project sponsors, external consultants, industry groups, market bodies, government departments and consumers.
About You
Candidates will possess demonstrated knowledge of the energy market/adjacent markets or regulatory environment paired with established project management and critical problem solving skills. Previous experience in a specialist policy, research and/or regulatory role is highly desirable. This experience will be underpinned by relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, commerce, law, engineering, science or other relevant discipline.
You will work effectively both independently and in a team environment with the ability to build positive and productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. This leadership role will also require demonstrated coaching and mentoring capability, high level verbal and written communication skills and well developed relationship building capability.
