Ngamuru engages specialist advisers with a diverse range of expertise to support a wide range of projects and initiatives undertaken by Government agencies. Our advisers work directly with client teams in delivering commercial advisory services or designing or implementing Government policies and frameworks.
We have multiple vacancies upcoming in the commercial assurance, contracting and procurement space. These opportunities can be part-time or full-time, depending on your availability. We have vacancies in Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Position Responsibilities
The main duties of the Senior Adviser include:
- Contract management of ASDEFCON/Commonwealth Contracting Suite contracts for both materiel acquisition and support and supplies as well as software. For example, activities such as processing contract changes, reviewing contract deliverables, managing contractor performance, leading negotiation with prime contractors, developing delegate approvals, developing contract management plans etc.
- Leading complex procurement activities and developing request documents. For example, activities such as developing contracts, procurement strategies, endorsements to proceed, tender evaluation plans, evaluation reports, liability risk assessments, managing the procurement schedule etc.
- Developing/mentoring APS commercial staff.
- Coordinating project representation at key contract meetings.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks.
- Preparing internal briefs, approval submissions and reports.
- Participating in contract workshops and forums as required.
- Assuring compliance with contract requirements and relevant departmental procurement policies.
- Providing accurate and timely commercial advice and guidance to delegates and stakeholders.
- Other ad hoc commercial support as requested.
What we are looking for
- Qualifications in procurement or related field.
- A current or recently expired (within 12 months) security clearance certified by a Federal Government Agency at Baseline (NV1 Preferred).
- Significant experience in federal and/or state government materiel procurement and/or contract management.
- Experience identifying and managing commercial risks related to procurement and contract management.
- Strong understanding of probity requirements for Commonwealth procurement.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of Commonwealth procurement regulations and policies such as the PGPA Act, procurement connected policies, Commonwealth Procurement Rules etc.
- The ability to work in a team as well as work independently.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Experience in ASDEFCON/Commonwealth Contracting suite of contracting templates or equivalent complex contracting documentation.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required.
