Senior Advisor, Transaction Management

Queensland Health's Capital Division is leading the most significant hospital expansion program in the state's history, with a commitment to delivering high-quality health infrastructure to benefit Queenslanders. As part of the Big Build program, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Advisor to join their Transaction Management Team.
As a Senior Advisor within the Transaction Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and executing transactions related to construction contracts, particularly those exceeding $100 million in value or with complex characteristics. Your expertise in construction contracting, combined with your ability to collaborate across government agencies and the private sector, will contribute to the successful delivery of key health infrastructure projects across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise deep knowledge of construction contracting, preferably within the Queensland Government framework, to formulate Transaction Management and negotiation strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with government agencies and private sector partners to address complex transaction and contracting matters, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on transactional issues, supporting tender negotiations and multi-stage contract negotiations.
- Seamlessly integrate with procurement and contract management functions to ensure transactions are completed successfully and meet the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Transaction Management processes and procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance value in health infrastructure projects for Queenslanders.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in construction contracting, with a preference for familiarity with Queensland Government contracting procedures.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across government agencies and the private sector to address complex transaction and contracting matters.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective Transaction Management strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a track record of building productive relationships with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated maturity in working across streams of closely related work such as contract management and procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Business, Construction Management) or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
