Form of workSenior Solution Architect
As a Senior Solution Architect you will have both a planning and hands on role. The position leads the architecting and design of project solutions within the CIO platform. You will be expected to take ownership of solutions architecture, ensuring they align with enterprise and platform strategies. This will be a 6-month contract located in Brisbane CBD.
You will use your technical expertise, organisational abilities and relationship management skills to:
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to define and select appropriate technology solutions.
- Guide the design and implementation of technology solutions ensuring alignment with principles and standards.
- Ensure all technology change passes through governance gates and meets risk appetite.
- Contribute to improving the enterprise architecture framework.
Your Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Participate as a member of the Architecture team in technology change governance processes.
- Collaborate with appropriate business and CIO stakeholders at the solution concept phase to guide solution direction.
- Ensure solutions are fit for purpose (commercial, functional, quality, timeliness) and align with business strategies, goals and objectives.
- Research, analyse, interpret and report on a range of possible solutions to complex business and technical requirements.
- Select and acquire additional solutions or enhancements to existing solutions to improve platform and overall enterprise architecture capability as per the existing procurement processes.
- Assess and communicate risks associated with architecture related investments and purchases.
- Lead the completion of solution architecture deliverables including options, assessments, decisions and definitions.
- 5+ years' experience in an Architecture role (ideally in banking)
- Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including infrastructure, software and data
- Solid understanding of application integration architecture
- Good understanding of project management principles
- Demonstrated experience to apply technology solutions to business problems
- Strong interpersonal, consultative and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively across internal functional areas, as well as with external parties
- Advanced problem solving skills
- Tertiary or Industry (e.g. TOGAF) qualification in relevant discipline
- Professional experience within Information Technology ideally in the financial services industry, ideally across business or divisions.
