ABOUT THE ROLE
People, Culture and Standards (PCS) accepts complaints of suspected breaches of discipline, criminal activity and bullying and harassment matters related to employees and contractors of the Department.
The role of the Assessments team is to receive, triage and assess complaints before making a recommendation and referral to the relevant business area within PCS which includes the Professional Standards Division; the Management, Engagement and Intervention Division; and the Workforce and Culture Division.
The position is responsible for managing their own caseload of more complex assessments; acting as the day-to-day point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; liaising with internal stakeholders and other divisions in PCS about complaints that are under assessment; and performs a critical quality assurance function by ensuring the accuracy of data in the case management system used to record complaints and related IT systems.
The panel is looking for a committed team member with the ability to provide direction to others and contribute to the efficient management of the Department’s complaints process.

  • A statement no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following Role Specific Criteria.
Please provide examples to support your claims.
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of allegations of misconduct within a highly regulated public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of contemporary best practice in relation to the assessment of complaints in an administrative context against relevant legislation including disciplinary matters, bullying and harassment and substandard performance.
  • An understanding of industrial relations principles in the public sector, applicable legislation and Government policy, standards and instructions in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
