We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Business Lending Finance Team within department in the Business and Private Banking team. You will support and align with NAB's Finance Strategy to modernise Finance and seek opportunities to drive simplification and process efficiencies.

You will provide commercial financial insights, and analysis to drive and improve business performance of the BPB Business Lending product. This includes performance & budgeting & planning, and financial reporting/ control.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assess, analyse, and investigate aspects of financial reporting of the Business Lending product's Finance Performance (Lending volumes, Net Interest Margin, Fee incomes, credit impairment charges), including understanding of variances to Business plan / forecast to ensure accurate reporting and the production of business financial insight for potential drivers of variances.

  • Provide detailed financial analysis by using data analytical skills to enable the provision of commercial and financial advice, on both strategic and operational initiatives.

  • Maintain strong balance sheet control and understanding through the review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations including ensuring aged balances are cleared and reconciliation breaks are clearly understood.

  • Support half year and year end reporting periods reporting and disclosures.

  • Support change initiatives by managing all financial impacts including validating / restatement of numbers, mapping of ledger and insight and taking actions to reduce key data gaps as required. Complete maintenance requests and support HFM changes as required.

  • Run relevant product planning models to ensure business inputs and group assumptions are reflected.

  • Maintain an understanding of group finance policy requirements and ensure compliance including identifying and addressing any areas of non-compliance.

What you will bring:

  • Focused on driving commercial insights as well as delivering results.

  • Able to synthesize information from multiple sources, build complex financial models, identify and synthesise key themes and communicate and influence effectively.

  • Technically proficient in use of modelling and visualisation tools (e.g. Advanced Excel, PowerBI, etc.) as well as general ledger understanding (eg SAP) .

  • Enjoys working collaboratively and building positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Uncompromising drive, passion, focus, and energy to help innovate and drive change.

  • Profound years of experience in Finance/Financial Services.

  • Tertiary qualification required, ideally CA/CPA qualified.
