Position Overview:
Australian Ground Sciences, a geotechnical engineering firm based in Strathfield, New South Wales, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise, and leading a team of geotechnical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee geotechnical projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Occasionally conduct geotechnical investigations, including site inspections, soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on geotechnical design, foundation systems, slope stability, earthworks, and retaining structures.
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including recommendations and design specifications.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address geotechnical challenges and provide effective solutions.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, maintaining a high level of quality and safety in all projects.
Stay updated with advancements in geotechnical engineering, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of four years of relevant post graduate experience in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, design, and project management.
Professional Engineer registration with Fair Trading, with RPEng, CPEng, or NER accreditation.
Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
Proficiency in geotechnical software and analysis tools (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, FLAC) is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide innovative solutions to geotechnical challenges.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
A high level of attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
