We’re a growing business, on the lookout for a skilled and motivated SEnior Bookkeeper in Geelong to join our team in an autonomous, but well supported role. We're excited to offer this is a brand-new role where, with the guidance of a part-time Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the accounts function within the company.  

Day-to-day this is a hands-on role; running our business accounts function; accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions along with other administration duties relating to the smooth running of our financials.  

As the team grows, you may gain responsibility for a small accounts administration team.

About Allied Therapy Services 
  • Allied Therapy Services is a private allied health service providing occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech pathology services in people’s homes and local community.  
  • You can find our 65+ strong team of therapists spread across the Albury-Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Warrnambool and Western Melbourne regions. 
  • Our back-of-house team are based in a bright and airy office space just out of central Geelong (hello parking!)  
  • You'll work day-to-day alongside other Allied Therapy Services back of house functions, our CEO, Operations Manager, Clinical Director and plus get to know the Geelong-based therapy team (they don't bite, promise!).

About your new role   

As the Senior Bookkeeper at Allied Therapy Services, your day could include:   

  • Working on day-to-day administration responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general administrative duties 
  • Overseeing fortnightly payroll and related responsibilities such as; time sheet reporting, travel allowances, monthly PAYG and superannuation reporting 
  • Completing of monthly financial reporting 
  • Completing weekly banking reconciliations 
  • Preparing and lodging monthly BAS, IAS and Payroll Tax paperwork 
  • Reconciling credit card, balance sheet and general ledger charges 
  • Preparing of year-end reports 
  • Analysis and reporting of departmental operations* 
  • Preparing the weekly cashflow forecast* 

*These responsibilities to be added after the initial on-boarding period, and with support of the Finance Manager.

Essential role requirements 
  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role  
  • Proficient with Xero 
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills – you just get things done! 
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Processing accuracy and an eye for detail 
  • The ability to set up processes that work efficiently and effectively 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Competent in the use of cloud computer applications 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills 
  • A positive and proactive approach to work 
  • Can adapt to changes in the role as the business continues to expand 
Desirable 
  • Relevant bookkeeping qualification 
  • Experience working in health and NDIS
