About The Role:The
Senior Building Compliance Officer (Level 6) reviews applications for permits and prepares recommendations for permits to be granted within the Finance Permit Authority, ensuring compliance with the WA Building Act, the National Construction Code, and relevant Australian Standards. This position is also responsible for undertaking scheduled inspections of building projects and a range of activities in support of the Permit Authority. The
Senior Building Compliance Officer will work autonomously and as part of a team to provide technical advice, participate in regulatory quality audits and provide technical reports on the outcomes of inspections and audits.
Principal Building Surveyor (Level 7) manages the process of ensuring compliance with the WA Building Act, the National Construction Code and referenced Australian Standards. The position also performs technical assessment of plans and specifications of commercial and public buildings. This role will support the division’s contribution to improving
Building Compliance of Government buildings.
About You:Our ideal candidate would be detail oriented with a high level of technical expertise in the built environment and building surveying. You will have extensive experience in a permit authority as a
Building Surveyor assessing and determining applications for Demolition, Building and Occupancy Permits for non-residential buildings. You will be the internal authority on all matters regarding building regulation, also providing advice and guidance on regulatory matters to customer teams, both internal and external. You are professional in all your activities; exemplify integrity and have a clear understanding of the need to provide timely customer service without compromising on regulatory requirements.To be considered for a Level 7
Principal Building Surveyor role you will also have a registration as a Level 1
Building Surveyor Practitioner in Western Australia.
