MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY, 17 APRIL 2024Job DescriptionUnder general direction, the IT Quality and Compliance Officer is responsible for coordinating IT compliance and quality activities across two core functions.Strategic IT risk management:
- coordinates the strategic IT risk management lifecycle including maintaining the strategic IT risk register (identification, analysis, evaluation and treatment), managing the functions of the OIM risk management group, strategic and executive reporting and communicating key risks to a variety of stakeholders.
- coordinates the development and review of the department’s strategic IT risk artefacts, ensuring alignment with contemporary risk management practices and tools and Compliance with department, government and risk management principles and related IT standards; and
- promotes a risk aware culture, encouraging risk integration into strategic, tactical and operational activities and business-IT decision making.
IT
Quality and Compliance:
- coordinates the internal and external audit processes and participates in compliance activities throughout the audit cycle to maintain compliance with department, government compliance, maturity and best practice standards;
- leads and coordinates quality improvements across OIM in accordance with defined quality criteria through analysis (identify, measure, improve, control), identifying alternative solutions, assessing feasibility, and recommending new approaches;
- reports on the Quality and Compliance program using data analysis to generate a variety of dashboard, performance, executive or formal compliance reports; and
- leads and motivates OIM staff in the development and achievement of Quality and Compliance goals and approaches change with positivity.
Selection CriteriaApplicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. * Working experience in exploring various possibilities and assist in generating innovative open standard based solutions related to IT
Quality and Compliance within a multi-faceted IT environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply lateral thinking to contribute ideas and solutions in a complex environment, utilising best practice principles, methods and processes related to contemporary IT Quality and Compliance issues.
- Proven experience to plan and coordinate compliance, risk and assurance programs and formulate quality control standards to improve IT efficiency (doing things right) and effectiveness (doing the right things).
- Knowledge of quality management systems (for example: ISO 9000-series), improvement frameworks (for example: ‘plan, do, check, act’ lean management methods), industry standard security frameworks (for example: ASD Essential 8, ASD ISM, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO/IEC 27000-series) and IT service management practices (for example: ITIL).
